At the end of August, bassist Bryan Beller (Steve Vai, Dethklok, Mike Keneally) candidly spoke with me regarding his latest musical project, called the Aristocrats, a new power trio also featuring guitarist Guthrie Govan (Asia/GPS, Dizzee Rascal), and drummer Marco Minnemann (Adrian Belew, UKZ, Necrophagist).

"The Aristocrats" self-titled CD has just been released on the band's own label, BOING Music, on September 13th. It is available both digitally and in hard copy through their website at www.the-aristocrats-band.com. A free, high-quality mp3 download is currently available there of the 8-minute "Sweaty Knockers."

To support the album, the band is touring the eastern U.S., Canada and Chicago in late-September/early October.

Each far-flung band member left their homes (outside London; Nashville, TN; southern California) to meet in a Chicago studio and track the CD in person.

In this downloadable/streaming audio interview, Bryan enthusiastically discusses everything from composing, the chemistry within the band, the recording of the CD, and the upcoming tour.
